At Last – the Solution to Youth Unemployment in Bhutan

Job creation in the domestic economy is limited to our economic growth. Fortunately, the internet provides a gateway to foreign jobs without our young people having to leave home. A new not-for-profit industry group has been launched to promote Bhutanese talent to the world and establish a successful “work here over the internet” IT-Enabled Services/Business Process Outsourcing (ITES/BPO) sector as has been done so successfully with millions of jobs and billions in export income by our close friend and big neighbour to the south. DNT’s pledge to address unemployment as an issue of national emergency

The government-elect, Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa, has committed to accord the highest priority in creating employment and livelihood opportunities for people and ensure that the youth have a decent job. DNT has pledged to prioritize job for the Bhutanese nationals between the age group of 19-35 to help gain work experience and to start their careers, and contribute fully to the country’s economy. Read more…
